UnTextbooked: A history podcast for the future

History Co:Lab’s UnTextbooked is a podcast co-founded, produced, and hosted by young people that revolutionizes history learning with intergenerational exchange and vibrant student-led storytelling. 

Young, curious minds team up with distinguished historians, curators, and journalists to explore challenging topics together and co-create meaningful and memorable listening and learning experiences that become podcast episodes.

Since its launch in 2020, UnTextbooked has accumulated over 90,000 downloads across 100 countries. In February 2024, the youth-led media program was nominated for an Ambie Award, the highest honor in podcasting. It was the only independent digital media entity to be nominated in its Best History Podcast category.
